Which is No 1 Movie in World 2022?
There are many movies released in 2022, but which one will win the prize? There are many good contenders, including Maverick, K.G.F. Chapter 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers: Endgame, but which will be the top film of the year? Here are some predictions for the top three films.
Maverick
“Top Gun: Maverick” has become the highest grossing movie of the summer, earning more than $1 billion worldwide. The film received positive reviews and managed to attract audiences despite facing fewer competition than more conventional summer blockbusters. With such an impressive opening weekend, Maverick is poised to be one of the year’s biggest movies.
Maverick has also surpassed the $500 million mark, becoming only the 17th movie to reach this milestone. It is also the second movie in the last 20 years to do so. It surpassed the previous record set by “War of the Worlds,” which was released in 1946. In addition to beating other major blockbusters, “Maverick” broke the Memorial Day weekend box office record and became the highest grossing film of the pandemic era.
It is worth noting that Maverick has already surpassed Titanic’s domestic and international box office records. Maverick has grossed $662 million in the U.S., making it the second highest grossing film of all time. This includes the UK and Japan. The film is also on course to top the $440 million mark set by the original Top Gun.
Thor: Ragnarok
The Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok is on top of the box office for the second week in a row, earning the top spot in the domestic box office for its first weekend in theaters. The sequel to the critically acclaimed Thor: The Dark World is expected to make around $350M domestically, and it has a healthy start in the overseas market. However, it needs to expand its appeal beyond the Marvel fanbase if it is going to be successful.
While the two Thor films share the same genre, they are very different in tone. Thor: Ragnarok has a lighthearted, comedic tone, which appealed to fans. It also features a return of Taika Waititi as director.
Thor: Ragnarok has opened with a modest $143 million domestically. That’s not bad, but it is far from the highest grossing MCU entry. It is halfway to $300 million domestically and has already surpassed the $350 million mark worldwide. The film also marks a good crest for Marvel after Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While some fans might be disappointed with Phase Four, this is an encouraging sign for the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame
Disney owns both franchises and Endgame is on course to overtake the previous No 1 film, “Avatar”. Disney acquired Fox in March and has taken the rights to both films, which should help it continue to increase its worldwide box office. Avatar’s global gross has recently been adjusted due to a re-release in China. The movie is also the first 3D release ever to top a billion dollars. As of June 28, “Avatar” has grossed over $1 billion worldwide, with a sequel coming out in December.
Avengers: Endgame has broken all records in North America and the domestic market, earning over $2.79 billion dollars. It also broke several international records, breaking records in over 50 countries and Antarctica. Endgame’s success has prompted Disney to promise 12 more films in the franchises between 2020 and 2027.
The movie will be Disney’s first “major” movie to surpass “Avatar.” While the movie may be the fourth Avengers film, it is already the highest-grossing film of all time. Disney recently acquired Fox, the company that owns Avatar, and has seven of the top-grossing movies. The company also owns all four films of the Avengers franchise. The film’s re-release with new footage ended in June, giving the movie an added boost. By today’s estimates, Avengers: Endgame has made over $2.9 billion worldwide.
